Tuart Hill was named after the Tuart trees that populated the area in the 1800s. It is a suburb of Perth, WA, and has a population of 6,700 people.

History

Called after the tree of the same name, a change was proposed in 1914. The Grenville Progress Association wanted ‘Grenville’ to replace Tuart Hill. But it was thought too similar to Granville in NSW.

The area has a rich agricultural history that is celebrated annually. Tuart Hill hosts the Osborne Park Agricultural Society event in the summer. People display their produce, animals and livestock.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

The town has two areas of parkland, Grenville Reserve and Robinson Reserve. There is a cricket and football oval, tennis courts, and playground.

Tuart Hill also offers a library, community centre, choice of primary schools and a college.
