History

Roleystone was first a sawmill in 1865, then farmland. Soon orchards and market gardens popped up before becoming a residential suburb in 1905.

More recently, there was a devastating bushfire in 2011 that destroyed 72 homes and damaged a further 27 houses. To date, this is the second worst bushfire in Western Australia.

Roleystone is well catered with shopping centres, schools, parks, and bus routes.

This suburb is perfect for wildlife lovers. There are many bandicoots, possums, lizards and kangaroos that live in Roleystone.

The suburb is home to two local newspapers, both owned and operated by residents. There is a local AFL, cricket, and soccer teams.

The Roleystone Musicians Club was established in 2007 and has been the creative heart and soul of the community ever since!
