History

The earliest settler in Hamilton Hill was Sydney Smith, who was an agent of Captain George Robb. Smith used the area to establish a farm for Robb, and it was in his letters to Robb that he addressed the area as Hamilton Hill. The first home in the area was built in 1866, and the second was built in 1920.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Hamilton Hill has a large reserve, the Manning Reserve, located in the south-west area of the suburb. The area also has many historical and heritage-listed buildings, including the Azelia Homestead Museum, and Randwick Stable. The local Newmarket Hotel is a hotspot for the horse racing industry in the area.
