Connolly is a relatively small suburb in Joondalup. You’ll find Connolly 26 kilometres north of Perth. It has a population of over 3,600, and neighbouring suburbs include Currambine, Iluka, Heathridge and Ocean Reef.

History

Connolly was originally built as a golf course estate in the late ‘80s. It has since been developed to house families, but the main golf course is still in place. Connolly gets its name from John Connolly, a private who arrived in the area in 1829.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Some Connolly residents are very enthusiastic about Christmas celebrations. Prairie Dunes Place has an annual Christmas lights display. It is put on by residents in aid of raising money for a charity that supports blind people. In 2007, $80,000 was raised to help train guide dogs.

There’s only one primary school in Connolly, but for the older kids there’s different high schools to choose from. Ocean Reef Senior High can be found on the west side of the golf course, with Belridge Senior High on the east.
