Armadale is an outer suburb of Perth’s metropolitan area in Western Australia with a population of around 12,800. It is located within the City of Armadale and is home to one of the five major railway services to Perth.

History

The area now known as Armadale was once lived-in by the Aboriginal people. When settlers arrived, a township called Kelmscott was formed. Interest in the area grew and land grants had been taken up in the district. Eventually, parts of the land were divided and sold.

In 1846, the first mine was established. It was used by the Western Australian Mining Company.

Armadale is home to many sporting venues including an aquatic centre, playing fields and indoor recreation centre. There is a skate park nearby, along with a BMX track. You can find lots of parks and children’s playgrounds in the area.

The suburb has plenty of shopping options like a large shopping centre, boutiques and specialty stores. Armadale has some great restaurants and cafes too. On top of all of that, you can find great schools, medical centres and public transport links in the suburb.
