Taylors Lakes is a suburb located 23km northwest of Melbourne, Victoria. It has a population of over 16,000. It’s bounded by the Calder Freeway in the north, Lady Nelson Way in the South, Overnewton Road and Taylors Creek in the east, and the Bendigo railways line in the west.

History

Taylors Creek was named after Scotsman William Taylor. He was one of Keilor’s earliest settlers who built the Overnewton homestead in 1849.

It’s mainly made up of recent developments which date from the 1990s. One of these is Taylors Lakes Post Office which opened in 1994.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Taylors Lakes has two shopping centres, Taylors Lakes Shopping Centre and Watergardens Town Centre. It’s home to Taylors Lakes Recreational which includes football, cricket, basketball, tennis, and gardening clubs.

There are many other facilities in Taylors Lakes. These include cinemas, bowling alleys, gardens, schools, and a train station.
