Exposed aggregate is a type of concrete finish where the surface layer of cement is removed, thereby exposing the small pebbles, small stones and sand which are in the concrete. This is achieved either by water-washing, sand blasting, honing/polishing or acid etching. A great variety of effects can be achieved by the choice of aggregates, colourisation and methodology.
