Lockington is a town in the Shire of Campaspe, in northern Victoria. The suburb is around 198km from Melbourne’s central business district, and 75km from Bendigo. It has a population of 778 at the 2011 census.

History

Lockington was originally named Pannoobamawm. When the railway station was built in the area, the town was renamed to Bamawm. Then, as the town grew, the name changed again, and was named after the Jesuit priest William Lockington in 1921.
