Kialla is a rural locality of the City of Greater Shepparton in the Goulburn Valley. With the surrounding areas, it has a population of over 4,500. The locality of Kialla includes four areas. These areas are Kialla West, Kialla Central, Kialla Lakes, and Kialla Green.

History

Kialla Post Office opened in 1874 and closed in 1918. The Kialla Primary School opened in the same year. In 1876, the Kialla West School opened. In 1893, Kialla Village Settlement opened to the east of the Goulburn River.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Many sports clubs hold regular meetings in Kialla. Shepparton Harness Racing Club meets at its racetrack in the area. Shepparton Greyhound Racing Club meets at its track on the Goulburn Valley Highway. Local golfers enjoy spending time at Kialla Golf Club.

Locals enjoy going to the Shepparton Festival and Shepparton Farmers’ Market.
