Keilor Downs is a suburb in Victoria, 17km north-west of Melbourne in the local government area of the City of Brimbank. It has a population of over 10,300 people.

History

The suburb is thought to have once had a large Aboriginal settlement that dissipated after Europeans settled in the area. Keilor Downs Post Office opened on the 14th May 1990 as the suburb began to develop in the late 20th century.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

The main shopping area in the suburb is Keilor Shopping Centre, which was previously known as Centro Keilor before 2013. The suburb also features the Brimbank Leisure Centre, which has a gym and indoor and outdoor pools among other sporting facilities. The local football teams are the Green Gully Cavaliers, the Keilor Wolves, and Keilor Park SC.

There is also a police station, a community centre, several schools and child care centres, and churches and parks in the area.
