History

John Highett built a farm on a hill in 1837. The district was then divided up during the 1960s. Soon, a hotel and post office was built for its 300 residents. More vineyards and farmland led to more development in the area.

The scenic hills have always been popular places for residents. Today, the suburb is within the City of Greater Geelong Council. Its federal district is Corangamite.
