Hampton Park is a suburb of Victoria 36 kilometres south-east of Melbourne’s central business district. It has an estimated population of 23,500 and is close to Narre Warren.

History

The town of Hampton Park was developed after World War I. It all started from when the Somerville Road area was subdivided. A post office opened in 1920. Electricity was connected in 1942 and town water in 1961. The residents of Hampton Park relied on lamps and tank water up until that time.

In the 1970s, Hampton Park was further developed. Improvements made to the area continue to this day.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Hampton Park is a growing suburb with a new performing arts centre and a large library. It’s close to a local shopping centre, as well as good primary and secondary schools. There are lots of medical centres nearby, along with supermarkets and takeaway outlets.

The nearest train station to the town is Lynbrook and Hallam. However, regular buses service Hampton Park on a daily basis.
