History

The Post Office came to Hallam in 1889 and was open until 1981. After a decade of absence, the post office reopened in 1994. The local railway station originally called itself Hallam’s Road Railway Station. It shortened its name to Hallam’s in 1910. In 1925, it finally took on its current name, Hallam.
