History

The Euroa economy used to rely on sheep farming. However, this has now been replaced with horse studs.

In 1878, Ned Kelly robbed the National Bank in Euroa. In 1891, a butter and ice factory was established, and in 1892 a courthouse was constructed. The courthouse was very forward-thinking in its design.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Euroa caters for both young and old with several schools and retirement villages. The Shire of Strathbogie has its headquarters in Euroa. There is a golf club, and an Australian Rules football team called the Euroa Magpies is based here.

There is a caravan park in the area for those coming for an extended visit, and there are plenty of places to go for a picnic in the area.
