Endeavour Hills is a leafy suburb of Victoria 31 kilometres south-east from Melbourne’s central business district. It has a population of over 24,500 and offers beautiful views over the outer eastern suburbs.

History

The land in the area of Endeavour Hills was first used by the Aboriginal people. After the 1830s, Europeans settlers came to the town to use the land for cattle runs and farming. The earliest landowner was a man called Thomas Herbert Power.

Endeavour Hills was named after Captain James Cook’s ship, which was called The Endeavour. In 1974 some houses, schools, parks and shops began to appear in the area.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

There are lots of parks and gardens in Endeavour Hills, along with a variety of birdlife and trees. The main shopping area is the Endeavour Hills Shopping Centre, which has around 86 stores and 3 supermarkets.

The town is home to a basketball court, leisure centre and health and wellness centre. As well as lots of schools and medical services, Endeavour Hills has a skate park and golf club.
