Cranbourne West is a suburb in Melbourne, located 40km south-east from the CBD. It is bordered by Cranbourne East and Cranbourne South, and is part of the larger City of Casey. The suburb has a population of 8,743, according to the 2011 census.

History

Cranbourne West is a relatively new suburb, with the majority of its development occurring after the late 1990s. The suburb’s main shopping centre, The Sandhurst Centre, opened in 2006. In 2008, the City of Casey released a development plan for the area, with plans to develop more parks and paths, new schools, and more housing.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Cranbourne West is home to the Ranfurlie Golf Club, and is also a short distance from the Cranbourne Gardens, one of Victoria’s Royal Botanic Gardens. Nature lovers will enjoy strolling through the botanic gardens, as well as enjoying a coffee at the cafe in the gardens. The local Sandhurst Centre has all the amenities residents need, including a supermarket, pharmacy, and other shops.
