Lying 26km north of Melbourne’s central business district, Craigieburn is a suburb in Victoria. It has a population of over 32,700, which is expected to double by 2021.

History

The indigenous people were the first individuals to live in Craigieburn. The suburb gets its name from an old bluestone inn that took in travellers along the Old Sydney Road. This hotel was located directly opposite what is now Kingswood Drive.

Craigieburn opened its first post office in 1866.
