A growing awareness of the pressures on our environment has prompted many people to consider a more sustainable lifestyle.
The homes we choose to live in represent one of our largest impacts on the environment and the greatest opportunity to reduce our personal foot print. Nigel Jones has been designing practical, sustainable houses in Tasmania since 1980.
Whether built in the city or country, from conventional materials or from more individual ones such as stone, mud brick or rendered straw bales, Nigel 's homes incorporate features that reduce energy and water use whilst providing both a healthy environment and a sound investment. They combine traditional aesthetic values with an innovative approach to design, creating home environments that are responsive, adaptable and warmly inviting.
A major part of Nigel's work is his ongoing consultative support with owners, and with all involved throughout the building process, including councils. He is extremely generous with his time, extensive knowledge and mentoring.
