Dr Scott Mackie is a specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon, offering
consultation and surgical services within Hobart and Tasmania
since 2005. He provides No-Gap surgical services for privately
insured patients. Specialising in robotic assisted knee
replacement surgery, computer navigation assisted hip
replacements, post-trauma reconstructions and a broad range of
other upper and lower limb surgeries.
We are a small practice offering a personalised and friendly service. We take pride in taking the time to listen to patients, and education regarding both surgical and non-surgical management options. Dr Mackie has regular theatre access at Calvary Hospital, Lenah Valley and participates in on-call services to the hospital. Being co-located at Calvary Hospital provides ease of access to other services including radiology and pathology.

Yes. Dr Mackie has been a no-gap provider with all private health insurers since 2005. All surgical accounts are sent directly to private health insurers. Consultations are not covered by private health insurance, but are Medicare relatable.

Which hospitals do you work at?
Dr Mackie has regular theatres sessions at Calvary Hospital, Lenah Valley. He also works with orthopaedic services at the Royal Hobart Hospital for uninsured patients, children (under 10yo), and those patients with more complex needs.
