Two Wells is a town in South Australia. It’s located 40km north of Adelaide’s central business district, and serves as the entrance to Adelaide Plains. Two Falls is part of the local government area of the Adelaide Plains Council, and has a population of more than 3,000.

History

European settlement began in the Two Wells area around the 1860s. The town is named for a pair of watering holes stumbled upon by shepherds, which had been used by Aboriginal hunters for many thousands of year. The town developed around the wells, and the discovery of copper nearby accelerated its growth. The wells themselves were eventually filled in, before being rediscovered in 1967.
