History

Most of the area on which Mawson Lakes now stands was once known as ‘The Levels’, a sheep breeding establishment set up by Edward J.Pitts in 1877. The Levels became one of the richest sheep breeding businesses in Australia producing quality wool which was sold around the world.

In 1982, the first technology park in Australia was established and is now home to over 90 businesses.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Mawson continues to grow with housing and commercial developments ongoing. It has a centrally located commercial area which boasts numerous shops, cafes and a hotel. More developments are planned to serve the fast growing population.
