Largs Bay is a suburb in South Australia located on the Lefevre Peninsula. 16km northwest of Adelaide city centre, it has a population of around 4,000.

History

Largs Bay was originally set up as a private subdivision in Section 1069 in the cadastral unit of the Hundred of Port Adelaide. The name was submitted at a council meeting on 1945 by the City of Adelaide. In 1951, it was adopted by the Nomenclature Committee.

In the local government area of the City of Port Adelaide Enfield, it’s a residential suburb with a minor harbourside presence. Its eastern boundary was extended to the centre of the Port River in 2009.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

The suburb is home to a primary school, a museum on Fletcher Road, and a hospice on Everard Street.

The main outdoor reserve in the suburb is Largs Reserve, which overlooks Woolnough Road and is the site of a lawn bowling club.
