Greenwith is a suburb in the City of Tea Tree Gully, and is adjacent to Golden Grove and Salisbury Heights. The suburb is around 8km from Modbury, and has a population of 8,287 according to the 2001 census.

History

Greenwith was named in 1846 by Thomas Roberts, during an engagement with the South Australian Mining Association to open up mineral sections along the Torrens River. The name came from the mine where Roberts worked near Cornwall in the UK. His home, Greenwith Cottage, is still open today for tourists as a historic site in the area. The actual construction of the Greenwith suburb began in 1985.

There are also plenty of walking trails for hikers, and the lakes are ideal for fishing.
