Goodwood is a suburb in Adelaide’s inner south, and is governed by the City of Unley. Goodwood is only 3km from Adelaide’s CBD, and has a population of 2,810.

History

Goodwood was granted to the South Australian Company in 1839, and in 1840 only had a population of 100. However, due to its proximity to the CBD, the area has become a popular and upmarket suburb, as well as a commercial and retail precinct.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Goodwood’s main road, Goodwood Road, is home to retailers, as well as retailers and the local primary school. The Capri Theatre is located in this area, and is built in Art Deco style. The cinema is popular for its Nostalgia Movie Nights, where locals can watch popular classic films.
