Orthodontic treatment is necessary because it is important to establish a proper bite and jaw positioning. crooked and crowded teeth cause oral hygiene issues, it can also lead to tooth decay, gum disease and even tooth loss in the future.
Each persons treatment is different. generally up to 18 months to 3 years. a fitted retainer is worn after the braces are removed to ensure that the teeth do not move.
Taking care of your mouth, teeth and gums is extremely important , especially when it comes to needing orthodontic treatment, oral hygiene plays a huge role in considering if a person is fit to have braces. good oral hygiene also helps to prevent tooth decay, gum disease and bad breath.
