Woodford is a small Queensland town home to over 2,500 people. You can find Woodford 72 kilometres north-west of Brisbane on the D’Aguilar Highway. Caboolture is a 24 kilometre journey east of Woodford.

History

On the Stanley River, which is where Woodford now stands, the Archer brothers established Durundur Station. This was way back in 1841. But it wasn’t until 1878 that a Mr Yates bought off some of the land and developed the suburb which was then unofficially named Yatesville.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Woodford is home to a number of festivals. Throughout the New Year holidays, Woodford hosts a well-known folk festival. The Splendour in the Grass music festival has been held in Woodford on two occasions. There’s also an event that celebrates Aboriginal culture called Dreaming Festival.

If you enjoy searching for second-hand treasures and antiques, Woodford town centre hosts a market on the third Sunday of every month.
