Wolffdene is a small suburb of Logan City found 26km from the central business district. It’s part of the Logan City local government area, and has a population of more than 290.

History

The Wolffdene area was settled by the Wolff family in the 1860s, which is how it derives its name. It was previously known as Woolfdean, Woolfdene and Wolfdene, before the current name was settled on in 1924. The area was known for its sugar mill, which could churn out up to three tons of sugar per day. A dam was proposed in Wolffdene in 1968, although nothing came of it and the plans were eventually ditched in 1990.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

The east side of Wolffdene is bordered by the Albert River. The river splits off into the Dunn Creek, which runs through the suburb. Skene Road Reserve is also located here. Wolffdene is a largely undeveloped rural spot, and it borders on Luscombe, Logan Village, Belivah and Windaroo. The suburb features a popular little souvenir shop called the Train Place, as well as the Maudsley HG farm.
