Tarragindi is a large leafy suburb in Queensland. Nearly 10,000 people call Tarragindi their home. Neighbouring suburbs include Nathan, Salisbury, Annerley, Moorooka and Greenslopes to name a few.

History

Tarragindi was originally home to the Coorparoo Aboriginal people. In 1857, George Pratten was the first European settler to survey the land.

During World War Two, Tarragindi was home to a field hospital to treat soldiers. These days, very little of the Ekibin Hospital remains. In its place is the Ekibin Memorial Park.

If you’re a nature lover, Tarragindi is the place for you. There are a lot of parks and green spaces on offer, as well as vast bushland and forest tracks. If you love the movies, the occasional free film screening is put on in a park. But if the buzz of a city is more your sort of thing, then Brisbane is only a 15 minute car journey away.
