Tamborine is a town split between Logan City and Scenic Rim Region, Queensland. It is 47km south of Brisbane and has a population of 3,464.

History

Tamborine used to be the centre of the Shire of Tamborine, which was merged to the Shire of Beaudesert. This shire was then split between Logan City and Scenic Rim Region in 2008. Patrick Logan, who was the first European to explore the area, lent his name to the City of Logan.

The American Army set up a camp in Tamborine during World War II called Camp Cable. The camp housed 20,000 men.

Tamborine is a very green, quiet area. It features a hotel, a post office, a dragon fruit farm and a church at its centre. There are many residential developments in Tamborine.

Tamborine borders and partially entails Tamborine National Park. This park offers fantastic bush walks with views all the way to the Pacific Ocean.
