Tablelands is an area in the South Burnett region of Queensland. It is 250km west of Brisbane and has no recorded population.
History
Tablelands used to be a part of the Shire of Murgon. Another part of the shire was the Cherbourg Aboriginal Settlement, a reserve established in 1900. This reserve was and is home to a large indigenous community.
In 2008, the Shire of Murgon merged with other shires to form the South Burnett Region.
Lifestyle and Entertainment
Tablelands features few houses and large expanses of farming land. It is in close proximity to Murgon, a town with over 2,000 residents. Murgon offers shops, motels, medical facilities and a golf course.
Tablelands is a beautiful, hilly area with breathtaking views. It is close to many national parks and state forests. Though it is in the middle of nature, all modern amenities are just a short drive away.
