Robina is a suburb on the Gold Coast in Queensland. It is one of the first places in the country to be a planned residential area and now has a population of 20,522.

History

The Singaporean real estate developer, Robin Loh purchased the land in 1980. The land had previously been used for nothing more than grazing. Both Robin and the urban designer, Moshe Safdie formed the Robina Land Corporation. They both had a dream to development lots of local businesses and residential properties on the land.

Robina is now known as one of the country’s fastest growing suburbs. In addition to that, it is one of the most successful planned communities of its kind.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Robina is a sought-after area to live and visit. It has a shopping centre in the town centre, as well as Bond University, Cbus Super Stadium and a local library. The suburb has two public hospitals and many sports teams.

The Pacific Motorway connects the suburb with Brisbane and the northern suburbs. Then there’s the M1, which links Robina to the Gold Coast Airport and New South Wales. The area is also home to two main bus stations that both offer services to the public every day.
