Saw Tooth can also be called a cut stringer & it is where there is no stringer visible above the treads or risers.
There are no guarantees with timber as it is a natural material, which is governed by the growing conditions that the tree needs to endure prior to milling. We will try our best to match our products with any existing timber and our show room is always available to visit during office hours if you wish to come in and see our timber types in person.
Every job is different & has different requirements, usually it is best to allocate at least one full day for the installation of the stairs & one full day for the installation of the Balustrade, occasionally however we may not require the full two days & other times we require additional installation days. If you have concerns please speak with one of our friendly staff members.
No we do not. The only instance where a paintbrush is ever used is to apply the primer in the joints, only of external works.
Open housed means there is no riser board & closed housed means that there is a riser board between treads (you cannot see between the treads).
We recommend 24 hours, this allows the glue to dry completely & will therefore minimise any future squeaks. Walking on a "just installed" flight of stairs can break the not properly dried/formed glue, which can then be the cause of future squeaks.
