History

The suburb’s name originates from a racecourse in the area. The racecourse is located at the end of present day Grange Road.

The area is known for its long-standing education facilities. It has some of the oldest schools in this area of Queensland. Raceview State School opened at the turn of federation, in 1901.

Another local school is Bethany Lutheran Primary School, open since 1928. The population of the area is largely Christian in faith.

Notably, the major Queensland road, the Cunningham Highway passes through the east side of Raceview. As such, the area has long been a port of call for long-distance drivers.

The area is mostly residential with family homes. As such, the suburb is popular with established families and retirees. It has easy access to the area’s wide motorway network, local restaurants, schools and other convenience facilities.
