Park Ridge is a rural suburb of Logan with a population of 2,328. The area features bushland and is bounded by the Mt Lindesay Highway to the west.

History

Until the 1890s, the area was called Logan Ridges. The original population included a number of families from Yorkshire. The area is rural, with a rich tradition of farming. Timber-getting was also a major local industry until the early 20th century.

Residents of Park Ridge attempted to grow tobacco in the 1930s, but success was short-lived. Park Ridge Hall officially opened in 1953.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Poultry farming is now the primary industry of Park Ridge. The suburb is also home to the Milpara Shopping Centre, as well as a public swimming pool located at Park Ridge State School.

The suburb boasts a number of other schools and colleges. These include Park Ridge State High School, Parklands Christian College, and St Philomena School.
