History

Munruben was once a rural community. However, recent developments in the area mean the suburb has grown into a residential area. Munruben was officially named in 1991. Its name comes from the property Mun Rubens, a name that is derived from an Aboriginal word for a local lagoon.

As a residential suburb, Munruben has plenty of local amenities for residents. In the north-east, Jerry’s Downfall Reserve is a well-known open space in the area. The Logan River runs through the suburb, and many riverside parks are great for families who want to spend the weekend outdoors.
