History

Mundingburra was officially named in 1877. The area was mostly rural, and a primary school was opened in 1884. Housing in the suburb has both pre- and post-war designs, and there were also modern designs constructed in the 1960s.

The suburb of Mundingburra has local supermarkets and shops along the Ross River Road. There are also three schools in the area, a church, mosque, and the Kokoda Memorial swimming pool. Mundingburra has an abundance of parklands, from the Anderson Park Botanical Gardens to Sheriff Park by the Ross River.
