This is a common misconception. Low back and neck pain may feel as if something is “pinched” however this is rarely the case. There are many different causes of a sharp stabbing or grabbing pain in your spine or into your arms and legs. This is why an accurate diagnosis is so important before any treatment is commenced.
The disc is a soft pulpy “shock absorber” located between the two vertebra. It has a fibrous outer ring which holds in a jelly-like material. A slipped disc is a common way to refer to a wide variety of disc problems. However, a disc can’t slip because of the way it attaches to the spinal bones above and below it. A disc can bulge, tear, herniate, thin, dry out and it can collapse. It definitely can’t “slip out of place”. Find out more detailed information go to our web page.
At your examination we will determine if x-rays are required. If x-rays are necessary, you will be referred out to have them taken at a nearby location. These costs are covered by Medicare. If you have any spinal x-rays bring them with you to your first visit and more x-rays may not be required.

Allow about 30 to 45 minutes for your first visit with us. This visit will be planned at a time that is interruption free, giving the doctor the opportunity to listen to you and complete a thorough examination to find the cause of your problems. On your next visit we will discuss with you what we have found and if we can help you. This will normally take about 15-20 minutes. Standard treatment times usually vary from 5 to 15 minutes.

No. We treat many patients who have osteoporosis. To correct spinal problems with patients suffering from osteoporosis we use specific low force techniques that allow for the fragility of the bones.
Under Medicare's Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) program patients are able to be covered for up to 5 chiropractic visits per year. Patients must be referred by their GP. Feel free to speak to us further about this option.
No. Some people can make their joints "pop", but that's not an adjustment! Cracking your spine is not the same as having your chiropractor assess your spine and specifically adjust selected joints. Worse, damage can occur by mobilizing a joint with weakened muscles and ligaments. Adjustments are so specific even your chiropractor can't adjust himself.
Chiropractors are highly qualified health care professionals that are regulated by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). In Australia, Chiropractors are required to study an extensive approved & accredited 5 year university degree. This consists of either a 5 year bachelor of Chiropractic, or a 3 year bachelor followed by a 2 year Master's degree. Chiropractors are also required to continue training and learning on a yearly basis in order to maintain their registration.
