History

Moray Field, as it was previously known, was an area of land bought by George Raff. The area took its name from Raff’s native Morayshire in Scotland. Over the years, it has also been known as Morayfields but finally became Morayfield in 1881.

Originally a rural town specialising in dairy and crop farming, it now has booming retail and service industries.

The town’s railway station offers frequent services to Brisbane, Ipswich, Caboolture and the Sunshine Coast.
