Logan Village is a town and locality in Logan City, QLD. 45km from Brisbane GPO, it has a population of over 3,500.

History

Captain Patrick Logan, commandant of the Moreton Bay penal colony, made an expedition to Mt Barney in 1827. It’s believed that he camped beside the Logan River near Logan Village.

Published in 1842, the first accurate map of the area shows Logan River with a navigation limit marker near the town.

European settlement began in its location as the head of navigation on the Logan River. The Logan Agricultural Reserve was proclaimed in 1862 for freehold selection. It became part of the Agricultural Reserve when it was extended in 1863. The township was surveyed in 1865.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Located along Wharf Street is the Logan Village Community Centre. This centre has many meeting rooms and a number of heritage buildings. Next to the centre is the parkland, Village Green.
