Lake Manchester is both a lake and locality in Brisbane, Queensland. It’s split between the City of Brisbane and Somerset Region of Queensland. It’s located 30km west of the central business district. Nobody currently lives in the area.

History

The area is named gayer the lake, which was created by the Lake Manchester Dam. They constructed the dam between 1912 and 1916. It’s named after civil engineer, Ernest James Theodore Manchester. He was the President of the Metropolitan Water and Sewerage Board from 1909 to 1928.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

The area is mostly undeveloped because of its mountainous terrain. This makes it difficult to develop and build any sort of structure. It is north-east of the D’Aguilar Range. North of the suburb is part of the D’Aguilar National Park. The southern parts belong to the Brisbane State Forest.
