History

Kin Kora takes its name from Kin Kora Creek. Kin Kora Creek was named in around 1853 by Francis Peter MacCabe, a Dublin-born surveyor. Francis Peter MacCabe named Kin Kora Creek after the traditional Irish name for the stronghold of Brian Boru, the King of Ireland from 1002 to 1014.

On October 1981, the government co-educational primary school Kin Kora State School opened.
