History
European settlers first settled in the Nundah area in 1838. They were granted 500 acres of land alongside the Kedron Brook. The area took its name from the Kedron valley in Jerusalem. Following the first land sales in 1857 the area was slowly settled by more

Europeans who set up businesses in the area including a blacksmith’s forge.
The area flourished following the discovery of gold and the Kedron bridge was constructed over the brook in 1868.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

The area has a state school, college and is also the home of the Queensland Emergency Services in the former University building. There is a good range of shops at the Westfield Shopping Centre and there is a war memorial in the Kedron Cemetery on Gympie Road. There is a diverse mix of cultures within the community including India, Italian, and Filipino.
