Kallangur is a suburb in Queensland that is surrounded by the beautiful mountains of Samford. It is situated north of Brisbane and has an estimated population of 19,000.

History

The area of Kallangur was once owned by a lady called Mrs Griffin. It was later acquired by a Scottish man called Thomas Petrie in 1855. The name of the suburb comes from the Aboriginal language and means “a good or satisfactory place.”

Kallangur grew in the 20th century, which was helped by the fact that it was on the main road route to the Redcliffe Peninsula.

This suburb offers everything you need for travel including train services and the Kallangur bypass. Plus, it has a Westfield Shopping Centre, plenty of parks and some yummy places to eat.

Kallangur has lots of natural habitat for wildlife and a number of heritage-listed sites. On top of all of that, you can find some good schools in the town.
