Helensvale is a leafy suburb in Queensland located at the base of the Tamborine Mountain. It is situated near the northern end of the Gold Coast and has a population of about 16,000.

History

The suburb of Helensvale was named after a lady called Helen White. Her brother, Ernest White and a man called Arthur Robinson ran a sugar plantation in the town around 1870.

It wasn’t until the 1980s when Helensvale became home to its first residents. There was a shopping centre, golf course and bowls club in the area, as well as schools and parks.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Helensvale has a large shopping centre with lots of supermarkets and fashion stores. There is also a post office, medical centre and a food court.

As well as two golf courses, Helensvale offers a playing field, skate park, swimming pool and bowling green. The local railway station links directly to Brisbane and the airport.
