Everton Park is a suburb in the City of Brisbane, and is located around 8km from the Brisbane CBD. It is a predominantly residential suburb, and has a population of around 8,325.

History

The history of Everton Park can be traced back to around the 1870s, when Thomas McDowell had a vineyard in the area. He named the area after Everton in Liverpool. A post office opened in Everton in 1899, and between 1910-1930, the population grew threefold. Primary and high schools opened to meet the growing demand, as well as local shops. The suburb was fully settled by the mid-1970s.

Everton Park has a Homemaker Centre, a community-based shopping centre, and is also close to the large Brookside Shopping Centre. The suburb has an abundance of schools, including primary schools and colleges. Everton Park’s local hotel, the Everton Park Hotel, is a family-friendly spot that has great food and a pub atmosphere.
