Emu Park is a popular tourist location on the stunning Capricorn Coast, Queensland. It is 21km south of Yeppoon and within the Shire of Livingstone. The population is over 2,021.

History

Emu Park was once known as Hewittville. First settled by the Jardine family in 1860s, Emu Park became a township in the 1870s. Holiday homes started to appear along its coastline and it soon became a privileged holiday destination. The once well-used railway lines between Yeppoon and Rockhampton are now closed.

Famous explorer Captain James Cook discovered Keppel Bay in 1770.

Emu Park’s numerous sandy beaches and unspoilt coastlines draw tourists from afar. The heritage-listed Bell Park is perfect for a relaxing stroll.
