Cornubia is a lush suburb in Logan City, Queensland. It’s located 12km east of the central business district and 30km south-east of Brisbane. Cornubia has a population of more than 6,800.

History

As Logan City Developed, Cornubia changed hands a number of times. It was a dairy farm run by the Wagner family until 1894, when William Tabb bought the land from them. By the 1920s, it was owned by the Taylor family who gave it the name “Cornubia Park”. In the 1930s, the Jensen family took over. They dropped the “Park” to discourage people from unwittingly trespassing on their property. Alfred Grant was the last private owner in the 1950s, before the Logan City Council finally acquired Cornubia for itself.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Cornubia is very close to the Logan Hyperdome, which is one of Queensland’s biggest fully covered shopping centres. It’s a green suburb with plenty of natural beauty, and home to many animals. The Cornubia Forest Nature Reserve has been established to ensure it stays this way.
