History

The suburb takes its name from Clear Island Road, a rural track. The track ran from Merrimac to Miami Keys. In the early-1990s, most of the track was built over.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

These days, Clear Island Waters is a residential area. There is one school in the suburb. It is called St Vincents Catholic Primary School. Students must travel to other suburbs for high school.

The suburb has two golf courses. Surfers Paradise Golf Club and Merrimac Golf Course are popular with golfers.

Aside from this, the area has few facilities. Residents must travel to the neighbouring suburbs to do their shopping.
