History

Carseldine is named after a landowner from the 1850s, William Carseldine. He settled in Bald Hills and was a fencing contractor. Since then Carseldine has become connected to major cities by rail and bus. It was home to the Queensland University of Technology’s Carseldine campus. This campus closed in 2008.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Carseldine is a residential area. Many residents commute to the centre of Brisbane every day. The town has a number of shopping facilities. These include one of a few Bunnings Warehouse stores. There are also two community shopping centres. There are two plant nurseries on Beams Road, and an Australian rules football team.
