Carindale is a trendy suburb of Brisbane, Queensland. It is situated 10 kilometres east of Brisbane’s central business district and has an estimated population of 15,500.

History

The suburb of Carindale saw its first European settlers in the 1850s. They used the area for farming and producing timber.

Carindale Nursing Home was built on Foxglove Street in 1973. In 1978, the area became home to a shopping centre, which was called Carindale. A local housing estate was also named Carindale in 1976. In 1980, the area was separated from Belmont and became known as the suburb of Carindale.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

This great suburb has one of the largest Westfield shopping centres in Brisbane. It has over 400 stores including Woolworths, Big W, Coles and Aldi. The centre also has a cinema.

There is a park and ride to take you into the city and the Gateway Motorway for easy access to the airport. Carindale is close to some good schools, parks and sporting facilities.
